How to submit a claim

Claims should be submitted through our Global Accident and Health Claims Portal, which provides a simple, secure, and efficient way to lodge your claim online.

The portal offers:

  • Ability to upload supporting documents directly
  • Faster and more efficient processing

Please note that the acceptance of your claim submission does not represent an admission of policy liability by BHSI. Each claim will be reviewed and assessed on its own merits, and all settlement decisions will be determined in accordance with the terms and conditions of the policy.

We reserve the right to request additional documents (including originals) and information in support of your claim. The provision of such documents and information remains the responsibility of the Policyholder/Insured Person (as applicable).

Travel‑Related Claims
Travel Delay, Cancellation, or Curtailment

Please submit the following where applicable:

  • Complete travel itinerary or e‑ticket showing confirmed departure and return dates/times.
  • Revised itinerary or replacement e‑tickets (if changes occurred).
  • Evidence of delay or cancellation (e.g., airline/transport provider letter stating reason and duration).
  • Refund details or travel credit received (if any).
  • Proof of additional expenses incurred due to the delay/cancellation (receipts/invoices).
  • Medical documents (only if the disruption is due to bodily injury, sickness, or death): medical reports and/or certification.

Baggage Loss, Damage, or Delay

  • Proof of ownership for lost/damaged items (e.g., invoices or receipts).
  • Property Irregularity Report (PIR) or confirmation from airline/transport provider.
  • Replacement purchase receipts (if any).
Medical-Related Claims

Submit the following documentation as applicable:

  • Itemised medical bills and receipts.
  • Medical report from the attending doctor.
  • Diagnostic reports (e.g., MRI, CT, histology, X‑ray, laboratory results) or referral letters (if applicable).
  • Hospital discharge summary (if applicable).

For overseas treatment during a trip:

  • Complete travel itinerary or e‑ticket showing confirmed travel dates.

Additional Requirements (Policy‑Specific)
If claiming under an Expatriate Medical Policy or Group Personal Accident Policy:

    • Copy of passport and/or national identity card.
    • Six months’ payslips prior to the accident or sickness (required when claiming weekly income/benefit).
Accidental Death Claims
  • Death certificate.
  • Proof of relationship between the claimant and the deceased.
  • Police Report
  • Police Investigation Report (if available)
  • Post-mortem or toxicology Report (if available)
  • Coroner’s certificate, including investigation report and findings (where applicable)
Vehicle-Related Claims (including Rental Vehicle Excess Waiver Claim)
  • Police report.
  • Vehicle rental agreeement.
  • Repair invoice or estimate.
  • Proof of towage or recovery charges
Property loss or damage
  • Police report (required for theft, robbery, loss of money, personal effects, or travel documents).
  • Proof of ownership/value (receipts, tax invoices, or relevant bank statements).
  • Repair quotation or invoice, supported by photos showing the extent of damage.
Claims Involving Third-Party Property Damage or Bodily Injury
  • Third party particulars and contact details.
  • Description and evidence of property damage (photos/videos).
  • Details of third‑party bodily injury (if applicable).
  • Circumstances of the incident, including date, time, and location.
  • Witness details, including names and contact information.
  • Any written demand or claim received from the third party.
