Job Opportunity:

About the Role:

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) is seeking a Claims Payment Specialist to join our Claims Operations team in Kuala Lumpur. This role provides operational support to our Claims organization by ensuring claims payments and related transactions are processed accurately and efficiently.

The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working with data and systems in a fastpaced environment. Previous experience in data entry, payment processing, financial operations, insurance administration, or similar operational support functions is preferred.

The position primarily focuses on claims payment processing, financial transaction handling, and data maintenance, while providing backup support for claim registration and other administrative activities as the business requires, across Asia, the Middle East, Australia, and New Zealand.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Process claims payments, recoveries, and other claim-related financial transactions accurately and in accordance with established procedures.
  • Verify payment details and supporting documentation before processing transactions.
  • Enter and maintain claim information within internal systems with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Manage incoming work items and ensure service standards and turnaround times are met.
  • Perform routine quality checks to ensure data integrity and compliance with internal procedures.
  • Assist with claim registration, and other administrative claim support activities as required.
  • Respond to internal inquiries from claims handlers and business partners regarding claim transactions and processing status.
  • Work closely with claims teams and operations colleagues to resolve processing issues and maintain workflow efficiency.
  • Follow established policies, procedures, and controls when handling claim transactions and customer information.
  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and ongoing process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in data entry, payment processing, finance operations, insurance administration, claims support, or a similar operational role.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling data and financial transactions.
  • Ability to manage repetitive tasks while maintaining a high level of quality.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders.
  • Experience working with insurance, claims, or financial systems would be an advantage but is not required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
