Job Opportunity:
Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Director of Global Operations to join our Policy Operations team in Boston. This role has people management responsibilities and offers broad exposure across all levels of the organization. We are seeking a self-directed and hands-on strategic thinker to engage across teams and drive the implementation and management of efficient and scalable system solutions, operational processes, and best practices. The ideal candidate will combine a technical mindset with operational expertise, be able to lead within a collaborative team setting, and thrive in an environment that demands individual accountability.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead Global Operations’ UAT processes; oversee day-to-day activities while driving strategic and scalable solutions to improve UAT efficiency across a growing suite of enterprise-wide applications.
- Manage Global Operations’ sanctions screening processes and procedures; participate as a key stakeholder in relevant IT initiatives designed to support process consistency, scalability, efficiency, and compliance.
- Represent Global Operations in the prioritization of enterprise-wide system enhancement requests; facilitate accurate and timely requirement documentation.
- Manage Global Operations’ approval process for production tickets and data fixes; recommend and facilitate alternative solutions when appropriate.
- Serve as Global Operations lead, driving IT solutions supporting party data capture globally and across enterprise-wide applications.
- Participate as a key Global Operations decision-maker in strategic initiatives driven by other functions and teams.
- Manage at least one onshore teammate.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- At least 7 years of relevant commercial insurance operations experience required.
- Management experience with strong, proven leadership and mentoring skills.
- Proven ability to network and collaborate with other teams, including senior level leaders.
- Experience working with IT teams strongly preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to lead productive meetings required.
- Ability to independently lead others toward timely resolutions required.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills required.
- Ability to think strategically required.
- Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment and to shift priorities as dictated by business needs required.
- Willingness to work flexible hours to meet the needs of a culturally diverse global team required.

The base salary range for this position in Boston is $130,000 to $150,000, along with annual bonus eligibility. Total compensation for a candidate is determined by their relevant skills, location, and experience.
